There are some serious earthworks going on at KAIRA's build site at the moment. The lorry-loads of gravel are starting to arrive, while the diggers continue to hack and haul the boulder-strewn landscape.
Once a patch has been reasonably cleared, the lorries bring the gravel in close and dump it out onto the depressed areas.
With the load gone, they can then turn back and head out to the gravel pits again for another load... and another... and another...
Meanwhile, the 18-tonne digger sweeps the freshly tipped material and flattens it out with the broad bucket attachment.
A few photographs make it look easy, but the contractor team have been at this tirelessly. All credit to them!
