Internet connection

Although a super-high capacity dedicated data link is planned for the site, this is a long-term project and some level of basic connectivity is needed in the short term. For this, we are using a point-to-point radio Internet link.

The antenna for the link is actually quite small (although remote, the distance that we need to travel is not too great), but the antenna needs to be mounted quite high to ensure that we get good clearance over ground cover to establish the point-to-point link.

Fitting the antenna to a mast on the Lehtinen Barracks.

We hope to have this system operational in the next day or so. This will allow remote monitoring of the site and act as our out-of-band link for equipment control and configuration.
